St David's Day is today! Get your traditional Welsh clothes out, and don't forget to add a good glug of stiff ale to your Welsh Rarebit. Today is officially the 'Feat Day of St David, the Patron Saint of Wales', but let's stick with St David's Day, shall we? Also, while you're at it, why not check out our list of the top two-tone watches we're in love with for this St David's Day celebration. Let's get started!
Submariner Date 116613LN
The Submariner may be the archetypal luxury diving watch, but it is still a professional diving watch meaning it's perfect for when things get a little, ahem, messy. Combining 904L surgical-grade stainless steel with solid yellow gold gives this watch a classic look, but it still says a lot about the owner. The two-tone Submariner has been a statement piece for many watch collectors for a number of years, it's rarer and more pricey than its stainless steel cousin, but it doesn't break the bank the way a solid gold Sub does. If you like a balance of sporting and luxury in your life, this could well be the watch for you. See the listing here.
Datejust 16013 green dial
Green isn't just the colour of the Irish St Patrick's Day celebrations. It also represents the green of the leek, which signifies St David. Did you know that finding a watch with a leek in it is incredibly hard? Leeks are big, watches not so much. Instead, we went with this green dial Datejust from 1987, which we think does the whole 'leek situation' justice. We love the thin stick markers and hands, and we love how much space the minimalistic dial has despite the fact that the two-tone case is only 36mm in diameter. It's classy, it's luxurious, and it's a bit green as well. See the listing here.
Cartier Ballon Bleu de Cartier 3001
The Ballon Bleu is a classic in Cartier's unique lineup of dressy/sporty watches that match French design with Swiss watchmaking. It's one of Cartier's stand-out models thanks to the crown placed inside the 42mm case's circumference. The cabochon-topped crown is made of gold, as are some of the centre links to the stylish bracelet and the sword hands. There's also some guilloché extending outwards from the centre for more visual appeal. This version has a chocolate-coloured dial which is a little rarer in the Ballon Bleu collection. It also features large Roman numerals to make reading it easy, and a date window adds some practicality. See the listing here.
Rolex Datejust 179173
Here's something for the ladies this St David's Day: the Rolex DateJust 179173 with a black anniversary factory diamond dial. That's right, for this model, the markers have been replaced by diamonds which are set by hand, and the black dial features the word 'ROLEX' repeating over it for a unique appearance. It comes with a yellow gold bezel & crown and yellow gold down the slim Jubilee bracelet's centre. This particular model is from 2010 and in excellent condition too. See the listing here.
These are just three of the many watches we have on sale at any time. We're continually working to get new watches in to offer you a wide variety of luxury timepieces to choose from.
